Workshops for the Months of June & July

It’s the beginning of Winter in the Shire and a fabulous time to get out with a camera and expand your photography.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced shooter, there is always something new to learn, explore and experience with photography.

It may be exploring a new location, taking a new camera on it’s maiden voyage, using a different camera, or deepening your engagement with a subject in the field.

In this workshop we will cover three key areas of creating great photos:  Lighting, Framing and Composition.

We will be working with the lighting, climatic and environmental conditions available to us on the day. We will consider the components to include in a shot as well as what not to include. We will also be spending some time exploring how we see our subject and how we can capture the feeling of the subject or scene in front of us. I like to consider the question in the workshops of how we can capture an image that also captures our emotional response to the subject. We use composition to convey these feelings and create stronger statements in our images.

Come and share in some of my favourite places to take pictures, and if you are up for it come on the early morning workshop where we experience the magical qualities of the dawn light.
