23rd June Bangalow Market

I’ve just got back from the Bangalow Market where I had my Fine Art Prints on display and for sale.

Again I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came by to see all the fine artwork on display in the Moller Pavillion today. I very much enjoyed meeting you all and having a chat.

Here is the favourite photograph of the day.  See you at the next market on the 28th July.

Monday Portrait Session

In an attempt to broaden and expand my photography I have given myself a new photography project. Portraiture.

I have been spending most of my time out in the field, which I love, photographing trees, plants, flowers, seed pods and landscapes. This kind of image making it’s very much about my engagement with nature and with the beauty that fills my every day if I care to find it and see it. And of course capture it. Capturing my vision of my world.

There is no doubt that this engagement brings me a sense of peace as I explore and delve into the natural world. But what about people! I so rarely photograph people, in fact I’ve been avoiding having people in my shots, mostly, although not entirely. This project, my people project attempts to capture some quality, an inner essence of the people I photograph. I am revisiting a very different relationship, that between me as the photographer and my subject the person who has agreed to be photographed. I am curious what will unfold over the coming weeks as I delve into another natural world. These are some of the people in my life.

44 – 52 / 100 Photos from the Byron Bay Photowalk

A small group of us headed out on Saturday afternoon under a fine but mostly overcast sky on out first Photowalk. We met at Wategos Beach and walked up to the lighthouse and back, stopping along the way whenever anyone found something interesting to photograph. I decided to carry just one camera with one lens and no tripod. Travelling light mean’t that we could be much more fluid and spontaneous with our captures. I took my Canon 5D with a 100mm lens. These are some of the images I got on the day. I have posted the group’s work on Pinterest as well.

43 /100 Bangalow Market

I spent yesterday in the Moller Pavillion at the Bangalow Market, with the Art There Collective.

My first venture into showing my work at the Bangalow Market, where I meet and had conversations with so many wonderful people. Thank you to everyone who came in to view the work on show. I enjoyed meeting you all, having a chat and sharing a little about my passion for photography.

I will be back on the Sunday 23rd June and look forward to seeing everyone then.

This image was the favourite of the day. If you would like to view the other images I showed click here

29-30/100 – Puremelt revisited

I have just done another shoot with the lovely Sarah Wheeler of Puremelt Chocolates Byron Bay . She is getting ready for the upcoming Sydney Mind Body Spirit Festival and is in full swing with preparation. She told me she is making 1000 chocolates as giveaways at the Festival. Sydneysiders are in for a delicious treat. I am loving the raspberry chocolates.

24-28/100 Puremelt Chocolate Byron Bay

Just recently I have been working on a new project, creating a soundslide in collaboration with local business owner and artisan chocolatier Sarah Wheeler of Puremelt Chocolate Byron Bay. The images here are previews of  some of the content that will go into the finished project. I’ve still got at least another day’s shooting scheduled and then I start on editing and post production. It’s been a great way to get to know the stories behind a local business and its product. By the way the chocolates are fantastic…to look at and to eat.
